MEGADETH - Check Out A New Song Preview Now! By Tokemaster General, Contributor Friday, June 3, 2011 @ 3:06 PM
MEGADETH fans rejoice! A new song, 'Never Dead', is featured in the trailer below for the new NeverDead fantasy action game:
Currently in production for the PS3 and 360, this third-person action game takes place in a world where humans are battling supernatural enemies in a "vast city landscape".
Taking place in the future, players will utilize a "butterfly-design inspired sword" and a bunch of guns in their fight against a demonic host. Not much is known about the game at this point, but the press release stated that it will have a very unique healing mechanic that was designed by a former Kojima Production member. The environment is also supposed to be destructible.
Jon Wiederhorn from Guitar World recently conducted an interview with Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine. Excerpts from the chat are below:
Guitar World: How do you see the new album as a development from Endgame? Will it be heavier, more technical, more melodic?
Mustaine: "It’s gonna be heavy and not slow heavy like BLACK SABBATH or TROUBLE. It’s very, very fast heavy."
Guitar World: How many songs did you write for the new one?
Mustaine: "We have 12 songs that we’re contracted for this record, and that’s all we’re doing."
Guitar World: You’ve been pretty busy touring. When did you have time to write?
Mustaine: "Some of the songs are old, some are new. Some were written this morning. Some back in the early stages of my career - songs that weren’t previously recorded. It’s just a variety of stuff."
Megadeth are currently recording their 13th album with Johnny K, who has worked with the likes of DISTURBED, 3 DOORS DOWN and FINGER ELEVEN. Writing/arranging, drum tracking, guitars and solos commenced this month at the band's own Vic's Garage in San Marcos, CA with most of the process expected to be completed before Megadeth tours this summer as part of the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival with Disturbed and GODSMACK. The album is expected to surface in the fall via Roadrunner Records.
