Hilary Rosen, Chairman & CEO of the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), will step down from her position at the end of 2003.
Rosen has been with the RIAA since 1986, and in 1998 she was crowned the top seat in one of the most prestigious music industry corporations. She was an integral part in fighting against anti-piracy and copyright violations. As of recent, she’s been at the helm of many large Internet battles, including those against Napster and Kazaa.
Rosen is leaving to spend more time with her family at home. Her post has yet to be filled at this time. RIAA president Cary Sherman will remain in his current position.
