Brand New Sin Join Century Media Family; Prepare For Motorhead Tour By Sefany Jones, Contributing Editor Wednesday, February 9, 2005 @ 10:14 PM
Hailed by All Music Guide as “an example of everything right about hard rock,” the Syracuse-based Brand New Sin has signed a worldwide deal with Century Media Records. The group recently completed work on their highly anticipated sophomore effort, tentatively titled Recipe For Disaster. The album’s summer release will be preceded by a series of performances alongside rock legends Motorhead and Corrosion of Conformity, kicking off March 9 in Sayerville, N.J. “Brand New Sin is very pleased and excited to be part of the Century Media family,” says vocalist Joe Altier. “Their dedication to their artists is unmatched, and the successes of Shadows Fall, Lacuna Coil, God Forbid and many others over the years is a testament to that. Not only is the label comprised of hard-working mofo's, but they are truly fans of the bands they work with. We look forward to a long and successful run with them.” The Southern-influenced hard rock quintet first burst upon the scene in 2002 with their groundbreaking self-titled debut, which garnered acclaim from such mainstream outlets as Billboard and Guitar One. The group went on to earn a devoted legion of fans through relentless touring with a wide array of artists, from Black Label Society and Slayer to Breaking Benjamin and Saliva. It’s the stunning blend of Altier’s captivating roar and melodic overtones mixed with the band’s gritty, rock-solid rhythm section, stunning dual guitar solos and pummeling hooks that helps this group stand out from the pack and appeal to a diverse audience. In conjunction with the Motorhead/C.O.C. tour, the band will release a four-track EP titled Black and Blue next month. The title track http://mp4.centurymedia.com/audio/BNS.mp3 will serve as the first single from Recipe For Disaster; the other three songs will be exclusive to the EP. The group will also embark on a two-week tour of the Southeast starting on Feb. 17. A complete list of currently confirmed tour dates appears below; more dates will be added soon. “We can’t wait to hit the road again,” says Altier, “and to be doing it with Motorhead and C.O.C. is definitely a good way to start a campaign! It’s almost as if we have come full circle, because when we did our first nationwide tour, it was with Motorhead. This tour is just the beginning of what's to come. See you on the road!” Just when you thought you’ve heard it all, Brand New Sin returns with an aggressive, blue-collar American hard rock album sure to create a buzz that will transcend genres.
