Ex-SKID ROW Frontman JOHNNY SOLINGER Announces Houston Headline Show To Celebrate 20 Year Anniversary Of Joining Band By Larry Petro, News Monkey Tuesday, January 14, 2020 @ 7:22 AM
Solinger says he’s been busy since departing the multi platinum rock ‘n’ roll band SKID ROW, performing his own solo shows with some of his cronies from years past, such as LA GUNS, DOKKEN, MOTLEY CRUE's Vince Neil, CINDERELLA’s Tom Kiefer, LAST IN LINE, George Lynch, NIGHT RANGER, and WARRANT, among others. Solinger says he has been recording numerous tracks, both country and rock. This past year he’s recorded country music with producer Sam Taylor (KING'S X, ZZ TOP), and a pool of talented musicians including Eric Clapton‘s Jamie Oldaker on drums. He took it in his hand to executive produce all tracks. The result? Three country tracks and a much anticipated version of “Dead Man’s Party” by OINGO BOINGO, which features Mexican horns and is a drastic turn from anything the singer has ever recorded.
Last but not least, throw in the three Best of Vegas and one Best of Branson awards he sports on his resume as one of the lead singers and performers of the show Raiding The Rock Vault, which just wrapped up it’s 2+ year residency at the famed Hard Rock Casino and Hotel December 2019. It closes it's doors forever February 2020.
So why now? Why do you want to sing SKID ROW after being away from the band for five years? Solinger says for Four reasons really: KISS, DEF LEPPARD, POISON, and MOTLEY CRUE (Vince Neil). “I have toured with all of them and it’s a joy to witness this ‘second coming‘ of my beloved rock ‘n’ roll”. Solinger says he has a renewed interest in everything rock. He wants to celebrate the 20th anniversary of joining SKID ROW and the 15 years he gave as their lead singer.
He does it for the first time February 28 headlining his home venue, Warehouse Live as another Blackhorse Limousine Concert Series Event. If you're in the Houston area and want to attend this event, grab your free tickets HERE.
