Philip Naslund (Multi-platinum producer & Bruce Dickinson Guitarist) says, "To me, "Lost in the Dark" is a very special song. Written together with COMBUSTION 96, we really felt like we came across something simple, yet catchy, as soon as we worked out the opening guitar part. Like we've done on our most recent releases, we brought in Jon Howard from THREAT SIGNAL to write lyrics and perform the vocals and he really did an amazing job."

Jon Howard adds "When I was writing "Lost In The Dark", I thought back to a very brutal time in my life. A time when I felt completely defeated, drained and destroyed. I had gone through emotional trauma that really changed me and I wasn't myself anymore... I had lost the sense of who I was and I couldn't figure out how to get out of this destructive and confusing state of mind. It honestly took years to feel like myself again. So, the lyrics really don't hide anything, it's all written very directly. It's a struggle with myself and my battle trying to overcome this negative mindset. Giving up is never, ever an option. No matter how hard things get."

Formed in 2015, COMBUSTION 96 forges a hard-hitting mix of hard rock and metal that originates from their impressively diverse bank of influences. Starting as a one-man project, the music attracted several notable vocalists for its 2016 debut EP, First Wave. Singers such as Tommy Vext (Solo, Bad Wolves), Frankie Palmeri (Emmure), and Corey Bennett (Bermuda) all contributed to the underground success of the band's first offering that, to this day, continues to draw considerable streaming attraction.

Dallas based Hard Rock/Metal act COMBUSTION 96 decided to follow up their recent releases (singles "Damaged", "Up Again" and "On The Line") with a run of shows in the fall of 2023. Putting together a lineup of experienced musicians, the band's first southwest regional tour was considered a huge success, highlighted with a headline show at Austin's Come And Take It Live. To kick off the new year, the band did another highly successful tour in Texas, testing some coming releases in a live setting. To celebrate another great tour, the band released their debut music video for "On the Line" which premiered on March 15, 2024.

Initially the one-man project of guitarist Niklas Rubensson, COMBUSTION 96 are now a full-fledged band featuring THREAT SIGNAL's singer Jon Howard, as well as current and former members of WARBRINGER, ONI, Bruce Dickinson's solo project and more... COMBUSTION 96 have teamed with Revolver to premiere the new music video for their 2023 single "On the Line", which Swedish metal vet Peter Iwers (The Halo Effect, In Flames) described as ,energetic old-school thrash a la Bay Area, combined with a modern twist and a very catchy chorus. Now is the time for the release of their new single, "Lost in the Dark". Throughout 2024 and beyond, the band plans to consistently tour, release new music, continue collaborating with established musicians and expand on the sonic and visual universe that characterizes COMBUSTION 96.
