OUTLAW DEVILS The Bastard Sons of Rock N’ Roll By Alex Yarborough, Orlando Contributor Wednesday, June 2, 2021 @ 11:23 AM
The album launches with theme song “Bastard Sons”, a song that declares exactly who you are dealing with. This song will certainly be a great live opener. “Raising Hell” is a raucous signature tune with plenty of attitude. “Skin On Skin” is about exactly what you would expect. Check out the catchy chorus and Gary’s tasty leads in this song. Laid back rocker “Night Groove (Vampire’s Kiss)” is possibly my favorite song on the album. Rob lays down a heavy groove on bass that cannot be denied. I love Jerry’s vocals here. Crank this one up in your car for maximum pleasure.
“Revenge” is another winner, I really dig this track. The first single released was “All Time High” (Video HERE) and is sure to win over new fans with its swagger. “Sweat” has an ‘80s attitude and nice backing vocals, along with a snarling riff from Gary. “Brand Me” is another cool trademark tune, while “Rock N’ Roll Kid” tells of the band’s hedonistic lifestyle with a stellar main riff and groove. “(Filla Diaboli) Devil’s Daughter” is the main mid-tempo number on the album, while “Hellbound” might be the heaviest song (and I dig the reference to Hellraiser). The album closes with a rocking rendition of CCR’s “Fortunate Son”.
With sledgehammer drums, head-down riffing and sing along choruses, The Bastard Sons of Rock N’ Roll is a fun ride from beginning to end. The ‘80s metal flourish and overall bluster makes this album an excellent debut. I cranked this album up a lot in the past few weeks; there are quite a few devilishly good songs to be found on it! The Bastard Sons of Rock N’ Roll is available worldwide via digital music stores and streaming services such as Apple Music, Google Play, Amazon, and Spotify.
