Korn Announce Tour at Graveyard Press Conference By Junkman, On-Air Personality Monday, January 16, 2006 @ 8:17 PM
Parking it in front of a statue/gravemarker of Ramones guitarist Johnny Ramone, the band posed for pictures and assembled on a stage in front of a reflecting pool to announce their tour which kicks off February 24th in their hometown of Bakersfield California. Opening act will be Mudvayne. Singer Jonathan Davis (a former coroners assistant) said "We like to party in a cemetery, it’s a cool vibe," and mentioned that the band is looking forward to performing new songs on tour and looking forward to playing with Mudvayne. Davis explained that he got into death by watching the old Jack Klugman show "Quincy", which he referred to as "the real CSI." Celebrities galore showed up to join Korn in their Friday the 13th graveyard party, including the usually reclusive Axl Rose, Jessica Alba, Rachel Bilson and Adam Brody, along with members of Linkin Park, Powerman 5000, Buckcherry, Good Charlotte, The Used, Puddle of Mudd, Avenged Sevenfold, Papa Roach and 10 Years. After answering a few questions the band granted a few interviews and posed for a few more pictures before leaving the area. A party in the mausoleum later in the evening followed and I was told most of the celebrity names I dropped above attended. Stay tuned to KNAC.COM for more tour updates as they happen. Check out some pictures I took with the Korn dudes (below). Current tour dates are as follows. Venues are TBA. Up-to-the-minute Korn info can be found at www.korn.com.
