goin-blind - 3/11/2009 12:16:59 AM avenger, his name was steve lynch and i believe he is a rep for crate amps now, one of those guys in autograph just died recently i believe it was thier bassist randy rand, i liked that band alot ( they were a better version of bon jovi,) they had some cool tunes "my girlfriends, boyfriend isn't me" is a cool track..alot of em three strong albums and i thought thier last one "loud n clear" was very strong, poppy, but strong
Avengerkiller - 3/10/2009 9:52:32 PM lol..Scrap the guy was good.
goin-blind - 3/10/2009 7:22:11 PM fizz...nah i remember when killers came out, and everybody was asking about this "new" band iron maiden, they were on the map when dianno left, my whole point was yes you can change your "voice" in a band, however you have to willing to do it 100%, nikki never gave corabi a chance or the fans a chance to accept him, because nikki is "mr right now" and vince is nowhere near his form of say "shout at the devil" days
scrapmetal - 3/10/2009 1:48:19 PM Autograph's guitar player was amazing?SUrely you jest.Nightranger on the other hand, did indeed have 2 major talents in Watson & Gillis.
cannibal4life - 3/10/2009 10:47:17 AM one of my all time fav maiden tunes came from the blaze bayley era, the clansman. i don't think those albums suck as bad as people think. the song writing is still there, but i just think no one got used to blazes' singing. ac/dc was the same thing. i like them (ac/dc) because of their blues style never really went away. van halen is a completely different story. all i hear with van hagar is way too many keyboards.
fizzgig - 3/10/2009 10:37:56 AM GB, I think AC/DC is the exception, rather than the rule. As for Maiden, come on. DiAnno was on two albums, in the space of two years, at the beginning of the band's career, when they were still a somewhat "underground" band. To use them as a comparison, you might want to look more at the Blaze Bayley years. They had Dickinson all through the '80's, became megastars, made half a dozen records or so with him, and then he split, and they brought in Bayley for two records that are largely hated by the fans. Looking at it that way, the Crue are lucky to have as many people singing the praises of the Corabi release as they do.
forest1979 - 3/10/2009 6:41:52 AM Whatever way you look at it, Vince's voice aint what it was, his singing now consists of constantly shortened sentences, and Mick will probably not last more than 5 years before he has to jack in touring for good. In the meantime the Crue has to reap what it has sowed before the cash cow runs dry, and whilst the fans will universally acknowledge that Dr Feelgood was not the Crue's best album, it nonetheless sold buckets and so is easy for the CFest to fall back on so as to draw in the punters in 2009. If the Crue genuinely put their 'true fans' first they would play an earlier album in full, but all the voice's from the Crue camp since 2005 stink of $s so is the decision to play Dr Feelgood in its entirity really a surprise? I would guess that the CFest maybe has one more year left after this one and Nikki Sixx knows it.
goin-blind - 3/10/2009 12:23:53 AM fizz..absoloutly i think the fans would have accepted corabi as th crue singer if given a chance...as an example i give you iron maiden..maiden had "the" voice of maiden in paul dianno ( killers is a must have) however when he left they brought in dickenson and became megastars, maiden didn't panaic they stuck with dickenson no matter what, another example only slightly different circumstances..ac/dc.. bon scott WAS the voice of that band ( and an unmistakable voice at that) when he died ac/dc could have folded, however they found brian johnson and now he is the voice of ac/dc..same could be said for van halen when roth left and hagar took over ( i personally am not of that opinion, however alot of folks are)..so fizz yes you can change an established voice in a band, however you have to be committed to do so
Avengerkiller - 3/9/2009 9:31:20 PM cannibal..that guitar player in autograph was fucking amazing. Closest to that was Jeff Watson from Night Ranger. Fuck here we go..flamed for mentioning Night Ranger...
Avengerkiller - 3/9/2009 9:29:04 PM with a couple of exceptions...most of crue's albums are here's the two singles..the rest is filler.
Avengerkiller - 3/9/2009 9:27:16 PM Fizz..all Sixx does is try to capitalise on the "hey man I O.D'd and lived to tell about it" schtick. It started with "Kickstart my heart" and he's just kept going on and on about it. Take a leaf from Keith Richard's book and move on Nikki. Agreed, Neil's the voice of Crue but I can't excuse that last album man...
bosox1 - 3/9/2009 8:47:05 PM Play the whole shout at the devil. now that would be cool !!
fizzgig - 3/9/2009 2:50:34 PM GB, do you really think the fans would've accepted Corabi as the voice of the Crue, after five albums of Vince Neil? Their identity was pretty well set by that point. Good point, though, about Brides Of Destruction. And Dominator, those two throwaway tracks bring it up to ten on GGG, not eight.
