He was hospitalized in January and had emergency surgery on his right arm. Doctors are not sure how Hanneman got the disease but they suspect a spider bite. Hanneman is resting at home and will get skin grafts, and he's expected to make a full recovery. However, it means he will have to sit out the Slayer tour of Australia that begins next week. Slayer will bring in a guest guitarist who has not yet been named. Just a year ago, Slayer canceled several shows while singer Tom Araya recovered from surgery for severe neck and back pain.
