On October 5th the world will be introduced to BEHEMOTH’s new album I Loved You At Your Darkest. We have already had a sampler of two songs off the album, “God = Dog” and “Wolves Ov Siberia”, which were both insane and ferocious. However on this night a fully packed house had a chance to experience the album in its entirety a little less than a month away. Once the long and winding line outside of the State Social House was in and partook in some lively libations Brian Slagel, founder and CEO of Metal Blade Records, introduced the crowd to Adam “Nergal” Darski, the frontman of BEHEMOTH.

Adam being the showman that he is took center stage and had the crowd eagerly anticipating the first notes of his bands latest masterpiece. He talked about the forthcoming album and also had a few jokes. Then he thanked the crowd for coming. As he left the spotlight he greeted his faithful fans that wanted autographs and pictures taken with the Polish superstar. He obliged them all and was ever a gracious host.

As for the album I will go out on a limb and say that this is their best album to date. I can hear those moans and hisses coming. Yes, I have heard of their album The Satanist that everyone including myself thinks is tremendous, and yes I still stand by my previous statement. I Loved You At Your Darkest just has more to it. The atmosphere of the album is dark and heavy, but you will find more guitar riffs present throughout the album. Regarding the vocals what can I say Adam just seems to exceed my expectations time and time again. My favorite song off the album would have to be “Ecclesia Diabolica Catholica”.

This party was a flashback to how Record companies used to showcase their latest albums, and I hope this becomes more of a constant. To get a room full of people who enjoy music and you can share your thoughts on the album was great. I even saw some other artists on the Metal Blade label in the house mingling throughout the crowd. A big Thank You goes to Brian Slagel and Adam Darski and everyone else under the Metal Blade umbrella for hosting this party and letting us fans enjoy a night out listening to some amazing music.
